@Ingolf said in How to copy text via clipboard and paste in VS with new appearance?: I think VS' lacks a paste without format in text contexts I will check this as it should not be an issue. But yes, by default text i pasted with formatting.

I've seen this happen, but it's sporadic. Lots of fun UI glitches occurring on the Windows side. It will take some reporting to catch them all, I suspect.

@VectorStyler Look back at history, regarding question 1, this is a very important function. VS is a very powerful software. When I completely use VS as the mainstream work software in the future, there will be a lot of daily work documents. It will be very difficult to find files without a preview graphic window. Although I am looking forward to the emergence of the multilingual function, the function of the preview window should have a higher priority. Hope for reference.

@Subpath said in Stroke Width panel - broken?: @VectorStyler I actually don't have a problem with the way it is, because you can find out how it works So my thoughts went more , as an aid, perhaps to extend the tooltip text slightly by the line โ€œSelect a width node firstโ€ ? Just an idea, I don't know if this is a good solution maybe @Ingolf or @Li-Xiao know better Solutions You know me, more usability, less Linux Yes, there's a bit of missing self-explanatory context, so one knows it's about the context of the sequence of actions and the line width tool. This is where a status bar that can throw a line's explanation/error message has helped me a lot in other programs. Anyway, I'm a strong opponent of fields and functions with usable interfaces in a situation where they can't be used. And even worse, no feedback when you try. It's poor and outdated usability that costs customers countless hours figuring out programs. Affinity, for example, has huge amounts of it, and their forum is filled with repeated "how the fuck" questions solely from the small percentage of customers who use their forum. There are at least smaller tricks, if nothing else, that can be easily implemented, giving customers a clear idea that the path is closed here, and preferably also why.

@Boldline The size can be adjusted with the "Scale" field, and it will always be relative to the stroke width. The initial size (100%) is about 3x of the stroke width.

@Raaskot These are text frame contents, I will make these optional.

To add to the discussion, I am able to copy and paste webp images from my browsers on Windows 10. However when copying them from Firefox the transparency is pasted into vectorstyler as black. Copying from chrome preserves transparency as expected.

Awesome, that's exactly what I was looking for. I didn't really think that the order of things in the appearance panel would matter, but in hindsight it absolutely does, especially when dealing with things like multiple strokes and fills. Thanks!

@Boldline I think there is a conflict here between various constrains in the path editor. This might be a bug.

@Pat Got it. The workaround for the repeater expand is to use first a Convert to Curves (to flatten the scaling) and then do the expand. I will fix this There is some bug with the PDF export of the blends (probably the gradient on stroke) I opened a bug on this also.

@Boldline I didn't notice that you were using the Circular Bump in the Image Effects instead of the Shape Effects. Why not use the Circular Bump in the Shape Effects? In the Image Effects, you can use Rasterize

@onno-r This is because the colors are blended in a non-linear form by default (to be similar to a gradient). I will solve this issue.

@VectorStyler Make sense why they are non editable. But simply cannot find them on HD. Tried to lookup in the Library (and Application Support folder), but no show. I hoped It would make me understand the nature of the palettes better. I guess the palettes has been created with Dope Illustrator time ago. Have to investigate further ...

@Pat I opened a bug on this one, to use the current color (and maybe width, but not all stroke attributes) The line color can be changed in Settings -> Indicator Style, but that maybe not suitable for this use case.

@VectorStyler [image: 1713570579083-mmexport1713569321653-resized.jpg] There is also room for optimization in the center color of the curve and the size of the anchor point. It looks quite strenuous if it is not this pure white background.[image: 1713570584712-mmexport1713569317178-resized.jpg]

@VectorStyler This worked. I had the "Align on Shape" activated. The circle(key object) was too small, your illustration help figure it out (The arc). Thank you!
