@VectorStyler Ah, great. Got it. Update with a note: One have to check for conflicting shortkeys already set for other operations. Else it won't work. [image: 1778230120509-ee388d5e-42b9-4386-bcc5-a7e4371723f9-image.png]

@debraspicher The only problem is that it should change the selected node position, not the opposite one. Il will fix this.

@Raaskot I think the small paths and large width causes this. It looks like a bug (should not behave like this). I will try to fix this.

@Boldline This is a great idea about collecting tips and tricks on this topic. And I really do hope that you are able to make some videos on these tools specifically. If I recall you have been central to bringing about things like the Bezigon tool. I remember really liking it in Freehand but so far it doesn't click for me in VS. Maybe it's that after creating the curves they are normal Bezier handles instead of staying the type of automatic curving that the Freehand version created.

@VectorStyler said in Expand Group Opacity question shows no difference: @William-Kansepa For some settings changes you may need to reopen the document (and for others, restart the app) I think that could be the reason why it was refusing to work. Maybe an indication to mark that a certain setting requires a restart after editing it? Other software have an asterisk to indicate restart.

@Ingolf No, I do get it. That feeling is hard to replace. I learned to type on a typewriter so that's probably why I'm adjusted to working with a lot of key travel. I've seen the "drummy" keyboards and they do sound so nice on a good surface and look fun to use. I need my wrists to be stay relatively mobile especially as a tablet user. The Keychrons are not impervious to issues. I had a bit of key chatter on occasion with the Q6 Max when I first started with it probably because of the rubber gaskets, but I think the board broke in enough that it settled because I don't really have a problem now with it. (It did require a firmware update, though)

@ThatMikeGuy A brief description: there are two groups of curve drawing tools How to use these is up to the users, some are present in other illustration apps also so they may be familiar. group 1: these are more commonly used Pen - this is the regular pen tool Pencil - similar to other apps, painting curves Path Sketch - this is VectorStyler specific, similar to Pencil but can intersect+union the curves as you draw Brush - these are real vector brushes (that is, the content of the brush is also vector) Line - well, a simple line tool group 2: these are a bit more complicated, some of these are present in other apps also. these can be of two type: parametric (retains editability), or just directly creating cubic Beziers The first 3 are creating regular paths with lines and curves: Curvature tool: creates a bezier shape with smooth curvature (similar to Illustrator) Bezigon tool: (similar to Freehand) lines and beziers (press Option/Alt for beziers) Arc tool: curves drawn as arcs The next 4 create parametric (live) shapes interpolating a sequence of points with various methods: Interpolated Shape: cubic interpolation, you can select the interpolation method in the Shape panel (or in the top row) B-Spline - interpolating B-Spline over a sequence of points, set the degree of interpolation in the panel Spline - cubic interpolating splines Curvature Shape - same as the Curvature tool, but retains the line shape and you can set the curvature precision in the Shape panel

@EricP Those curves was just an example to illustrate the Problem with " Center Line ". Alchemy is a writen in Java, maybe this cause Problems on your Mac. No Problem on PC here even the App is old. Yes, its a very unique little App. You could take a search on youtube btw. . . Vector graphics could be exported .SVG or as .PDF non of them export "Boids" as simple Paths. Export as .PDF is sometimes a better option to keep some colored results. . . I dont see tracing as an solution. Editing the code is also out of reach. To simple split the Alchemy Result and use the " center line " effect on both sides seems the easiest solution to me. But i will look for alternative ways. . . Why i want a Path ? I like to experiment and do not have a clear goal all of the time. I just take on step after another. My next Step is just how to get a path out of that Alchemy results. While the Boids are a bit random, i love the tangled curved results and thought it would be nice to have this as simple Paths. Of course there are cases where i could use just the Alchemy Result direct. But having that Result as paths offers further procession options in many ways. Of course also in other Apps too.

@Raaskot said in How do I drag a straight segment without bending it?: @VectorStyler Just to confirm: Is there no VS-tool (other that A or V + modifier), where you click a segment and the select the adjecent nodes and hence do the operation? No such feature. You have to select the nodes
