"Black Ink" uses a kind of controller nodes to modulate brushes to set and control random strokes and has a node system for layers. In Color panel there is a lag between opacity slider movement and object's opacity change. On the other hand, in Object/Object Options pop up, there is smooth opacity change - that's I like - but lag with slider circle.

@Boldline Yes, this is doable, and already exists in a different form. Select multiple palette files in Finder and drag&drop over the VS window.
