Snapping Ignore Modifier (Ctrl) Sometimes Ignored
-
Video of the behavior included. It depends on where the user is zoomed in on the document it seems like. But yes, occasionally this modifier does act as what it should. It's hard to see, but there's a "Ctrl" text next to the mouse for when I am pressing the modifier key.
-
@debraspicher I tried to replicate this, but no success.
I think what happens here that Ctrl is pressed also for the zoom in/out commands.
And then while holding Ctrl, the node movement starts. Yes, in this case the snapping is not disabled.
The Ctrl disables snapping only if pressed after the node movement starts. Otherwise it is a shortcut modifier.

@VectorStyler Ok. Yes I did play around with that thinking that might be the case. Would it be possible to enable a setting for a cursor to update when a modifier is being activated? That might be useful for testing... just a thought.

Doing this in general (for all tools) would be a lot of changes.

@VectorStyler I was suggesting more for debug purposes this would be used, so not a unique cursor change for each tool. Maybe more like an overlay. But I get what you're saying.
I'll try it again and see if it behaves differently than what you say. I can also update the cursor on my end for the modifier key to be more visible if I need to record it again. This program for displaying keyboard output has theirs set to a floating text which is not easy to see on a compressed video.

@debraspicher One thing to remember: in VS pressing a modifier before the mouse pressed and after the mouse pressed can have different results depending on the tool (by design).
