IDP.Generic Virus Detected by Avast on v1.2.011
-
This warning has never happened before:
-
@gotanidea Was this happening before?
-
"IDP.Generic is essentially an antivirus alert rather than a specific virus identification. It signals that a file behaves similarly to known malware, as detected by the antivirus's Identity Protection feature. This often results in false positives, where non-malicious files are mistakenly flagged due to outdated antivirus definitions. It's crucial not to ignore such alerts without further investigation, but also to consider updating the antivirus software and verifying the file's safety with another security tool or service like VirusTotal before taking any action."

@VectorStyler No, it just occurred when I installed VectorStyler v1.2.011
-
@gotanidea What was the previous version that you had? This could also be caused by the code signing certificate that has changed.
-
@VectorStyler If I'm not mistaken, it was v1.2.002. After updating the app, I noticed that the old version wasn't removed automatically, so I uninstalled it manually.
-
@gotanidea I contacted Avast regarding this, most likely the code signing certificate change caused this.
-
@gotanidea Got a response from Avast that they fixed this issue.
