Moving layers (layers panel) "removes" shape effects
-
I apply shape effects to objects, move them, etc. and simply moving the layers in the layers panel cancels the shape effects. It's as if no effect had been applied before and I have to start again, which is very confusing (not tested on version 1.1).
-
@Pat I could not replicate this.
I created some objects (groups) and applied shape effects on the groups. The moved the groups around into other layers, and moved the Layers also. Seems to be working here.Maybe a recording, or an example file might help.

@VectorStyler I've sent you the file in which this occurred. I don't record a video systematically because I don't think I'll encounter a bug almost every time I use VS.
-
@Pat Was the moved layer or object inside a layer (or group) with a shape effect on it?
-
@Pat Got the file. I think what happens here is that the Envelope effect is in its identity mode (no distortion) and gets removed because of this.
I will try to fix this as soon as possible.

@VectorStyler In the file I sent you, there are two layers. Initially, there was only one and the Shape effect totally 'disappeared' when I moved the two objects into the second layer... I think...

@Pat said in Moving layers (layers panel) "removes" shape effects:

I will try to replicate this.

@Pat I think I managed to replicate this. The problem occurs when undoing a change made in the layers panel.

@VectorStyler yes, that could be this... Now I think I always activate the history.
