About the black defaults for each color mode

  • MacBlook Air: A1466 / macOS 10.15.7
    VS ver.1.1.103_Intel

About the black defaults for each color mode
Click on the black chips in the color palette to see the respective parameters.
    CMYK: K100
    RGB: 38, 33, 32
    GREY: 87
(Others are out of my field, so I omit them)

Furthermore, I try it on another mac.
    MacBook Pro: A2799 / macOS 13.0
    VS ver 1.1.103 Silicon

    CMYK: K100
    RGB: 40, 40, 40
    GREY: 84
    😳
    Hmmm.
    This result is strange.

@861475_VctSt What color profiles are used for CMYK and RGB on these macs?

  • @VectorStyler

Both machines use 2001 Japan Color Coted in CMYK.
Unless the color working mode is changed, the color profile will convert the values to those of each mode.
However, it is strange that the values differ from machine to machine.

@861475_VctSt I will try to find out what could cause this difference.

It could be that the CMYK profiles are a bit different in these systems.
Also: these values depend on the RGB profiles also.

  • @VectorStyler

I further tried it on another mac.
    MacBook Pro Mid. 2014
    os 10.14.6 Mojave

    CMYK: K100
    RGB: 41, 41, 40
    Grey: 87

I found that it depends on the machine.
When I check with the ColorSync utility, Japan color corted 2011 shows Adobe as the preferred CMM.
I guess it depends on whether or not Adobe products are installed on the Mac, the version of Apple color sync, and so on.
Anyway, it does not seem to be a bug, so Maybe there is no need to worry.
