Save + time since saving icon in status bar broken?
-
It doesn't change color whatever I do or how long I wait.
Windows: Grey icon
macOS: Black... that doesn't look right

@Ingolf Tried to replicate this here, but it seems to be working.
Could be some workspace or settings problem.

Works when I open previously saved files (created a long time ago). Doesn't when I create a new document, save it and do tons of stuff.

@Ingolf @VectorStyler I am having a similar issue where with new files it was not turning red as expected. One time I clicked on the icon and it turned red at that moment and then gave me the save box (it was an unsaved file prior)
When i returned to the default settings, it worked again as expected

I don't think it is. This is what I just did on macOS:
Renamed data folder to xdata, VS started in default configuration
First test
- Created a new document
- Observed: Black icon
- Clicked it and saved (on desktop)
- Black icon
- Made many edits
- Black icon
- ...
Second test
- Opened PDF (from desktop)
- Grey icon
- Made several edits
- Icon changes color as expected ending in red
Third test
- Opened VS document (from iCloud)
- Grey icon
- Made several edits
- Icon changes color as expected ending in red
(I was wrong in a post earlier today: BOTH Windows and macOS starts with a black icon when creating new documents, not just Windows)
-
@Ingolf I will try to add a fix for this in the next build.

No rush - just an observation that the icon behaves like this.
