stroke width line issues remain

I appreciate all the updates in build 88. However the stroke width tool seems to have some intermittent issues.
I created this stroke and then tried to adjust the width and it was not cooperating. I tried grabbing straight on the line, off the line, making new nodes, etc... sometimes it would work, many times it did not at all.
