Sometimes the selection cut (command-x) will not remain saved in memory if tasks are done in between cut and pasting

  • I have been trying to capture this on video, but periodically, If I need to erase something partially obscured by another vector shape sitting overtop, I'll cut (command-x) that top shape and select and delete or erase part of the shape I wanted to get rid of and then press command-v to paste the previously cut shape on top again - but sometimes it does not paste it back at all and if you go look in the edit>paste section at the top of the menu bar, the "paste" option is greyed out - meaning there's nothing in the memory to paste at all.
It's almost like the act of deleting or erasing the bottom shape in some capacity removes the previously cut shape from the memory. it does not happen all the time but often enough that I wanted to mention it. If I can capture it on video, I will post about that again.

  • @Boldline Didn't encounter this issue here. Is it happening with plain objects also or maybe only with those with more complex appearance (FX applied)?

  • @b77 when it last happened to me, I had cut a background shape made with an offset path - so it wasn't too complex.
I have noticed that as designs get more complicated, the strange stuff the program does increases.
I'm going to try to make it happen again with a test image and record the process

@Boldline I will try to replicate this issue. Added it to the backlog, let me know if you have more info.
