Activating Node Tool when in Isolation Mode requires Layer selection
-
I'm not sure if this is a bug or not. When activating Isolation mode, getting the nodes to show so I can work with them with Node tool seems oddly stubborn. I usually have to select the Object in Layers to get to the nodes so I can interact with them:

@debraspicher In isolation mode, you select and edit the content of the object (other objects clipped inside it). The object shape itself cannot be selected. This is the Select -> Isolate Inside selection command, also assigned by default to the double click.
There is an other isolation mode, that can isolate the object only (Select -> Isolate Selected). You can change this to be assigned to the double click in the Settings -> Document Editor -> Double Click drop down

@VectorStyler Is there a native way to use Isolate Selected without reassigning the double click? I see in the PDF manual an option for Ctrl + Click in Layers panel? Does this do the Select -> Isolate Selected as you mention?
As we know, the Ctrl modifier isn't working with a lot of commands (or does so intermittently), so I'm unable to check this behavior for myself. I just tried.
I don't necessarily need to change a default if I can adjust to the native behavior. Selecting from the Layers panel is not that big of a deal, as I like that we can use the isolate mode as a default to build on top of something. It's just a different way than I'm used to is all (and couldn't tell if it were a bug).

No, it does an isolate inside.
Are you using the right side Ctrl key? I will try to find out what could cause the Ctrl key issues.
I don't necessarily need to change a default if I can adjust to the native behavior.
I need some clarification. The native behavior is double click to isolate (which can be configured).

I was using Left Ctrl. Thank you for taking the time to answer. If it becomes a problem, I will make a change to the double click option. I was just curious if there was an alternative to access the other Isolation mode, but I think I can adapt just fine.

Only the menu commands. So maybe a shortcut could be assigned to these.
