Shift modifier key smooth the corner

While using pen tool Shift modifier smooths the corner.
corner

@Jayanta-Das Yes, this can be configured in Preferences -> Modifier Keys -> Swap Smooth Pen Clicking
Would it be better to have this key off by default?

@Jayanta-Das I'm glad you brought this up because I did not realize the shift offered that option to use a smooth node. What what would you prefer the shift do instead though? When you press shift with the pen tool active, what are you wanting?
So far, I like the fact that it's on by default - but I wanted to hear more of your reasoning not to
-
Sorry @VectorStyler for late reply.
@Boldline About the smooth node, it depends, like for different work/project smooth node is very useful. There is option in context bar for smooth node. And another reason is my muscle memory(a little bit). So if you asked me then I will prefer the option to be kept off in preferences.
-
@Jayanta-Das ok, but doesn't it only occur when you're using the shift key in the process? When you're depressing the shift key, what are you expecting it to do?
-
@Boldline I use Shift key to constrain the line 45°.
-
@VectorStyler sometime Pen tool tip (icon) doesn't remain(it change to arrow cursor) after selecting smooth/adjustment/symmetric from context tool bar is this a bug?
Edit: Even after disabling those option this issue is there.

Yes, this has been reported before, I could not replicate it yet.

ok that makes sense. Perhaps instead of turning it off by default it could be moved to a new modifier instead? I agree the shift makes more sense with constraining angles - muscle memory
