@Ayo said in About the Snap feature: Wouldn't it be better to change "Snap to Visible Only" to "Snap to View Extend Only" or shorter "Snap to Viewport Only" or even shorter "Snap to View Only" ? There is a big chance of confusion with the term 'visible' which is mainly linked to the layer system. I added this to the backlog.

@vectoradmin If i think about it i like the Option where the Shape Tool would also work on Clones the most. Because this way i will have more possibilities then with just a Symmetry Option in Shape Builder.

@vectoradmin hanks for the suggestion. I like the tool overall. That works ok but still leaves a think white line between the red and green in this case... it's not a bad thing for most purposes, but would be nice to have the option at some point for the totally clean cut. There are certain times that method is preferred. The cut out method still requires a fill shape, and cannot be a simply a stroke. @Subpath said in Opening existing VS files in full main artboard view: @Ingolf In Corel it is no problem to rename your View according to your needs. I know, but I never use and never used the proposed generic name in AD or Corel so it is a problem for me that I have to rename every viewpoint I create. When it pops up with a suggestion (like snapshots do already) it requires just hitting ENTER to accept it. Not a big deal and easy to figure out as a user. Renaming is a additional proces that is breaks creating a viewpoint into two actions - the second requiring a lot more. It is simply bad UI design.

@Devil-Dinosaur Thank you for your reply! Unfortunately, I don't experience what you have described. I have a group comprised of letter shapes. When I selected the group and only the group circle was selected, I wasn't able to change the color of any object. When I opened the group and selected each item in the group individually (holding shift and dragging so all the circles were selected), then I could change the color.

@Boldline said in File path in error dialogs: @Ingolf Seems like adding a non-working path would add confusion for sure. I'd think the name of the file would suffice and the user can go search for that easier But the filename is known - I just saw it and picked it in the open recent list. But I want to know what location it was opened from. Also searching if the file was on a now disconnected drive / USB stick will give zero results.

@Boldline said in "Export Again" option to save as new exported file instead of copying over?: Instead I realized it actually saved over the first exported file. I can see both instances being useful - the ability to quickly export a file and then go in and make edits and export again expecting to get multiple variation results or expecting the file to be replaced each time you edit. This could be some kind of "Incremental Export Again" feature. I added this to the backlog.

@Boldline @b77 yes, something along these lines. The exact use cases and UI is not yet clarified so input is welcome.

@Nils said in Editing features ( mega-topic ) ( unimplemented ): @vectoradmin Why do not all fields have variable support? From a programming perspective that seems quite strange. Internal class "fields" or numeric "fields" in UI? I as referring to numeric fields in UI In VS, internal class "fields" are properties (there are very few fields as in C++ syntax). These can have variable support if stored as variants (a lot are not), or if a variable override sets them (possible for all). UI numeric "fields": these have an associated "formatter" that determines what is a correct input and how to interpret it. Most numeric fields have a number "formatter" type. These would need to be changed in resources.

@Sullyman said in Scroll bar in font selection dropdown closes without allowing a selection to be made: Still having this same issue. Tried to replicate this on both Windows (10) and Mac, but it seems to be working. Before 1.1.024 version, this issue could be replicated. If there is a short recording (I recommend record.it) to help understand what happens and how to replicate it, that would be great. Thanks. I keep this issue open, let me know if you have more info.

@b77 said in Selective alignment: But I get it that you didn't mean this only for text. Examples are welcome. I was more thinking of it for being able to choosing what section of a selection to align. Some designs we create are intentionally off-center - a small bit of text or design extends beyond the rest of the frame - but we don't want that extended part to be a factor in how the overall design is aligned on the artboard. Here is an example from a few months back when I first brought it up. Some of the secondary text extends beyond the main body of the design and if I was selecting the entire design to align, it would be off-center as a result of this

@Boldline said in Lower opacity of the design while editing clipped objects instead of full hide: @vectoradmin Interesting. What is supposed to be occurring, a partial opacity drop or no visible change at all (everything stays 100% opacity)? This has nothing to do with isolation mode. What happens is that when dragging the selection, the some of the objects are not redrawn.

@Ingolf The main issue there is that holding Shift before mouse click is used to adjust the selection (add / remove to the selected nodes). I have to look into this more, how the two features (selection and angle constrain) could be reconciled under the same key press. BTW: there are cases in VS where it is possible to select multiple control points.
