Command-D not duplicating a layer

Can anyone else confirm that Command-D is not duplicating a layer? I'm on a Mac M1. The layer is unlocked and i can right-click and duplicate it from the menu there - but not the shortcut for some reason - thanks

@Boldline It works here if you click the round 'selection' button of the layer. Simply highlighting it does not select (or duplicate) it.

@Boldline @b77 Yes, the layer must be selected (on canvas) using the round icon.
Another way to duplicate is to highlight the layer in the Layers panel and click the second button at the icon row of the Layers panel.

@VectorStyler @b77 - Thanks! that was my issue. Tried it just now with the round button selected and it worked properly.
