Merge Boolean not always Working
-
The merge boolean operation seems to be working correctly when I use simple shapes - as I demonstrated in this video
but when I try more complicated shapes - working from what was initially editable text, I run into issues. It may not be the merge boolean that's really the problem, it might be something I'm doing or not doing with the text.
I created a letter using live text and then added a stroke to it in the same color as the text itself - then expanded the stroke and converted the text itself to curves. Then I hit the merge boolean with the goal of combining the two shapes together as one clean shape. I tried this a few times (here's one where it worked). I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. It either removes the interior shape completely, or it leaves them as not-completely cleanly merged.

@Boldline Send me a file with an example that is not working.
You could also try the Union (second icon) that ignores styling, to merge the two shapes.

@vectoradmin I will send in just a few minutes. I would use the union option -and that would work here but some things have negative spaces inside them - like the letter "A", "R" etc. and just using the union would fill in those spaces completely.

@Boldline Got the files. I add these to the backlog as a bug.

@Boldline There were improvements to Merge boolean in the new build (1.0.048). I will close this topic and lets open an other one if new issues are encountered.
