should changing the color in the color panel affect the width of halftone dots in repeater?

I was trying to figure out how to change the color of the halftone dots of a repeater result and noticed as I was clicking on different colors in the color panel, the size of the halftone dots in the selection, made with repeater were changing size - That's not supposed to happen right?
