Issue with alignment of objects along a stroke

I want to do a simple alignment of objects along a stroke. It doesn't work and the stroke ends up outside the artboards.

@Pat I tried to replicate here, but all seems fine. Send me that example.

@Pat Got the file, but I still cannot replicate the steps.
When I align to the shape, the objects are ungrouped, and the it works.Aligning inside a transformed group might be an issue.

@VectorStyler Well, I think I placed the stroke within the grouped repertoire to avoid this but I could be mistaken.

@B-Vs-V Alignment on path with rotation inside transformed groups will remain an open issue for now.
But without rotation it should work.
