Can't find the node

  • Can someone tell me how and in what use or tools the following nodes (from Settings>Indicator Shapes) become visible on your canvas?

    1. Selection Center Node
    2. Common Selection Node

Or are the links setting_nodes broken (bug).

@Ayo said in Can't find the node:

Both are a bit obscure, but can be found in:

    1. Selection Center Node: when editing the gradient shape with the "Gradient Shape Editor" tool (second tool next to the gradient tool). This will show the center of the gradient shape.

    2. Common Selection Node: will be the shape of the single node that is shown after drawing a shape with the Pencil or Brush tools.

  • Found, thanks

    Two more I can't find

    1. 'Transform Selection Active Node' (Editing Options 1) how do I get it displayed?

    2. Is the 'Selection Center Node' shape selector (Indicator Shapes) not working? I can alter the fill and line in 'Transform Selection Center' (Editing Options 1) but not the shape.

This one shows with the Collider tool, when hovering over the edge of a shape.

    1. Is the 'Transform Selection Center' shape selector (Indicator Shapes) not working?

It works here, but the "Transform Selection Center" is a different thing and its shape cannot be selected.

    OK.
But then; where and in what situation will I be able to see 'Transform Selection Center' indicator?

  • administrators

@Ayo This is shown at the center of the selected objects, when the Transform tool is used.

Must be enabled from the toolbar with the 0_1686298005761_center.png icon

Can be used to set the rotation pivot point.

  • And another one...

How and where can I see the Stroke Width Position (indicator-1) occur?

    Aside
When figuring out which node/indicator applies where concerning the Stroke Width Tool/Width Brush, I have a stuck application almost every time. The shape I use is a very basic line/curve. Nothing difficult.

Yes, this is a known issue, and has been also replicated here.
A fix already exists and will be available in the next build (early next week).

    Ok, that about the behaviour.
But my actual question was: how/where can I see the 'Stroke Width Position' shape? (correction: listed in Indicator Shapes)

@Ayo said in Can't find the node:

where can I see the 'Stroke Width Position' shape?

In the stroke width editor tool, when a width node is selected.

  • @VectorStyler said in Can't find the node:

    I get the:

    • Stoke Profile Marker
    • Stroke Profile Node
    • Stroke Width Node
but the 'Stroke Width Position' does not appear. Whatever crazy shape I give. Not with the Stroke Width Tool nor in the Stroke Width Editor window.

In this 'Path Width' cluster I have two more that I cannot make visible.
    resume:

    Indicator Shapes

    • Stroke Width Position

    Indicator-1

    • Stroke Profile Editing Position Node
    • Stroke Profile Editing Outline

can you direct me to these indicators?

    Stroke Width Position

Looks like this and the other got skipped in the stroke width tool. This is a bug.
    Will get fixed ASAP.

  • More questions.
If you're tired of my questions, just say so.

    This time the Collider Tool
    1.
The Collider Node I assume is the node appearing at the collision point between two shapes. In Indicator Shapes I can change the Collider Node all I want but it has no effect. Remains a Tiny Circle.
    2.
Which selection from Editing Options 1 should give the color and line settings for this node?
I'll trial and error the whole list but nothing has any effect.

    Is this a bug?

  • @Ayo

    1. Seems to be a bug.

    2. If I select 'Collision Snapping Indicator' from the list in Prefs > Editing Options 1,
changing its color and stroke width works here.

  • @b77 said in Can't find the node:

That one has effect on the snapping target path.
    Not the node.

  • @Ayo You want the point where you grab the shape to be changed?
Not the point where it snaps to another shape?

I am looking for the line and fill controls for the 'Collider Node' from Indicator Shapes.

Looks like a bug, added to the backlog.

This is now not in use anymore, as it is handled by a snapping indicator, will be removed.

    1. Which selection from Editing Options 1 should give the color and line settings for this node?

This will be the "Collision Snapping Indicator"
