Clipping Group regression

Scenario:
I create a Clipping Group using a normal flat colour:
It's possible to change the hue of the mask to any other:
BUT any attempts to change to a gradient fill will affect the whole Clipping Group:
Also note that if you initially start off with the masking object that has a gradient fill, you won't see the above challenge...
BTW this is on Windows 10 with latest updates.

@William-Kansepa Yes, this seems to be a regression.
Somehow the gradient ends up on the top of the group.In the Appearance panel, drag the "Fill" under the "Group" to fix this.
