Layers > Object Options Opacity Slider Preview

From the Layers palette > Object Options - the Opacity slider does not give live preview while the Appearance > Fill > Transparency previews correctly, as does the Transparency > Opacity slider.
EDIT: Something strange seems to be happening with the "Preview" button on the modal.?
