PDF fails to open and displays a blank artboard

I have recently encountered a serious problem with certain PDF files which refuse to display in VS. Any attempt to open these files will result in a blank artboard. The only workaround I currently have is to open the files in Illustrator and resave the PDF which then opens properly in VS.
I have sent an example file to VectorStyler. -

Update:
I found out why these PDFs were failing to display; I had the Import AI Data from PDF setting enabled and as soon as I disabled it, the PDFs are now opening in VS without any issues!
