It is a vector program but I would like to use seamless bitmap texture fills for layout purposes. In addition to vector fills whose visibility I can easily turn on and off as needed. For example from photos of real canvas, charcoal, oil and watercolor. What options do I have in Vectorstyler and what is the best way to proceed? Any ideas?

@creative The only option is to create a tiling pattern style from an imported image object.

Could you post a picture of what you are looking for ?
What kind of texture, how editable it should be ?

"Repper" as an Example is an online app which allow
pattern styles, you can upload your own bitmap
          (subscription based)

"Filter forge" is a image manipulation app which works
          with Nodes (one time paid)

And a very unique Bitmap app is "Black Ink" (on time paid, around 50 €)
it has a very flexible Node like Layer system where you can develope your
          own Pattern style

          Win 11
          CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 9600X, 6-core.
          GPU: Nvidia Geforce RTX 5070.

@Subpath Nothing concrete yet, black ink seems interesting but I have abandoned Windows a long time ago. Photoshop has the Patern view option to generate seamless paterns, but I don't have the latest Photoshop.

ok , as you are on mac
dont know if you know " PatternNodes" ?
where the company call it self " lostminds" 🙂
this app works also with nodes and offers
              import of Bitmaps too
              here a link
              https://www.lostminds.com/patternodes3/

i always recommend also "Affinity Designer" for
Pattern making, because Symbols in AD offers also
              flexible ways of doing this

you can even use ADs Symmetrie Tool (PixelPersona)
inside of a Symbol and draw with it

              Win 11
              CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 9600X, 6-core.
              GPU: Nvidia Geforce RTX 5070.
