Pen, Brush and Text tool fill colours resetting to transparent or black
-
This just appeared in the latest build, the pen tool's chosen fill colour will reset to transparent once you click to draw a shape, while the brush and text tool's colour defaults to a black fill, forcing you to pick a colour after drawing the shape for it to stick.
-
@Kyriakos Tried to replicate this one, but did not succeed. When using the pen tool in a new document, it has a black 1pt outline. If there were object drawn or selected before, it will pick the outline and fill color from the last one.
-
@vectoradmin It's not picking the outline and colour of the previous one, with every stroke or new pen shape it's defaulting to transparent fill for the pen tool and black for the brush (and text tool).
-
@Kyriakos Still cannot replicate this.
If it is possible to send me a file by email, with such new shapes with transparent fill defaults.
Create the new file with New Document Setup and enable Store History in the General tab. This way I can see through the history panel, the exact steps to replicate these errors.
It would help me better understand the issue.
Thanks!

@vectoradmin Send it to you just now.

@Kyriakos Got it. Added to the backlog. The default brush color is a bug. The default fill when using the pen tool is empty by design, but will set it to the current fill as it should be. (AD has empty, AI has fill even if not closed)
-
@Kyriakos In the new build (1.0.022), the default brush color is now the current stroke color.
Also the pen tool will fill the object with the current fill (I'm not sure this is a good idea, lets see how it plays out).

@vectoradmin it works as expected if you have no fill chosen, however if you do then with every new paintstroke the stroke colour defaults to black and the fill to transparent. I can record it you can't reproduce it.
Also i haven't been able to consistently reproduce this one yet, but sometimes the colour and stroke will get stuck at transparent and can't be changed.
Also the pen tool will fill the object with the current fill (I'm not sure this is a good idea, lets see how it plays out).
It's feeling very normal to me but yes, let's see the response.

@Kyriakos Sorry for the late reply, but this issue should be fixed now.
