      Hello,

I have a question who will help

where I can find the view / zoom option (magnifier) on the left function panel.

in many programs there is this option, I am used to it.
I can't find it in VS

I don't want to use keyboard shortcuts when using a graphics tablet.

does anyone have any solution to the problem?

      thanks,
      B.

@poljand The last (bottom) icon in the toolbox.

But on small screens it might be outside of the screen, in which case select Panels -> Toolbox Style -> Two Column Toolbox or Compact Toolbox to access it.

If you need area zoom, enable it in Preferences > Document Editor > Area Zoom Mode.

@poljand There are two zoom tool modes: area and scrubby.
can be set in Preferences -> Document Editor -> Area Zoom Mode.

Had a thought here - would it be possible to add a modifier to the zoom to temporarily switch it to the other zoom mode? I usually prefer the less controlled zoom, but occasionally I want to dial in the zoom area. What if the option key was used as a zoom mode modifier to do so?

@Boldline In affinity space+Ctrl (windows) temporarily switch to zoom. I find it very handy while using graphic tablet.

@Jayanta-Das I was trying space+ctrl for zoom on mac in VS and it's not working for me. I have other non-VS things assigned to those keys. I'm sure the temporary option would be great - I appreciate you mentioning it. Now I just need to figure out how it works for me

@VectorStyler would it make sense to have a second click of to "z" key take you back to the last tool used? much like the "a" key swaps between node editor tool and transform tool?

I think when we do use the "z" key, the option to use a modifier to switch between zoom methods would
also be really helpful. open to other ideas as well

@Jayanta-Das On the Mac it's Spacebar + Cmd, but it doesn't switch to Area Zoom like Boldline asked for.
It's just temporary zoom with whatever method is enabled in Prefs > Document Editor (scrubby or area zoom).

Interesting - Although not related to my specific zoom request, I'm glad @Jayanta-Das brought this up. My issue was I was not pressing the spacebar first and that was making the difference.

@Boldline If you press Cmd first you get the Spotlight search bar of macOS, that's why Spacebar needs to be pressed first.

I think this is already possible, but must be configured in the Modifiers section of Preferences.

I think the automatic tool on/off selection with shortcuts could be generalized for all tools.
I added this to the backlog.
