Stuck in the document tree? Stuck too far inside an object.
-
Not sure how to describe this, but once in an isolated object I cannot edit the specific isolated element, (even within a group) when I get to the root item. I don't understand why I could get too "deep" into an object. Conversely, I can get too far outside of the document when moving up the document tree. I read this section, but perhaps I didn't understand everything. https://www.vectorstyler.com/documentation/selections/
Here's what I see when editing..

Hi,
Thanks for the video, it helped replicating the bug. There are a couple of things going on here:
(1) the bug : seems that the "go back" is broken. The broken state can also be fixed by selecting (checking) the "Canvas -> Canvas" option (or document setup). this will be fixed in the next release.
(2) the feature : when double clicking on an object (even one without content) the editing "isolated context" is set to inside that object (event if it is empty, or filled).
This can be used to draw / place things inside that object (which will be clipped by the object shape). Be aware that if the object has the default fill and new objects are drawn inside, then they might not be visible at first because of the same fill.
To exit from the "isolated" object, you can also use double+click on an empty area of the canvas.
The main difference here from other apps is that double+click can be used to enter not just groups or clipped groups, but also regular objects, to create new objects inside. Also the objects containing other objects can have their (clipping) shape filled and outlined or further decorated in the Appearance panel.
