About the Layers panel, guidelines will not be selectable here as they are not objects (these are objects in Illustrator). A guideline can also be selected (turn red) by selecting it in the Guidelines panel. Just emailed you the file. I understand the selection option in the layers panel will not work for the guides, I was suggesting that the same principal feature be added to the gudies panel - where you can select the guide by clicking on a similar circle added to the guides panel. You mentioned here that the user should be able to click on the guide itself in the guide panel and have the corresponding guide be activated on the canvas, but that is not working for me. When I click on the guide in the guide panel, nothing activates.

  @Raaskot said in Adding modifiers in attached file have no effect: Masks are not affected. Bug or by design? I tested this, and unfortunately this is by design. The Halftone effect will work on the image part only, not the mask. This case can only be handled with vector halftones

  @VectorStyler Following LIXIAO's suggestion today, I turned off the "Show Nodes on Hover" option under Preferences > Selection, then tested moving objects. There was still some lag, but it was noticeably faster than before.

  @marce Here goes the shape, the video shows how is different the simplify between inkscape and VS. Inkscape start to delete nodes, making smooth the shape until it become totally lost.   @ZATOPEK This seems to be a bug. Aligning the stroke to the center will show the correct stripes. I will try to find a solution for this.

  Thanks Yet if there's many shapes with exclusions it may (ie texts) it may be cumbersome. Is there a dedicated function for this? @Boldline said in How do I select and cmd-G grouped shapes to a new group?: the interior fills of enclosed shapes can be made a different color
