kerning and leading
-
I'm not an expert on kerning vs leading and where and when to use what... but i was trying to adjust the spacing in between the letters of "Heart" and it seemed I needed to make major adjustments in the settings of the character panel. I was wanting to adjust all the letters together equally... but even when I had all of them selected, it seemed only the
"t" was affected and that only after a major edit.
With Illustrator, I can select one letter, or many and it will edit all that are selected at one time and with the option/alt key on mac, and the arrow left or right, I can adjust the spacing. I'm not saying it has to be like Illustrator, just trying to understand how VS has it set up

@Boldline Leading will not help in a single line text. Kerning will only work, if there are kerning metrics defined in the font, and those are then scaled up/down.
To uniformly adjust distance between character, you need to use Tracking, that is set in the field with the Ta icon (just under the kerning label).
