      So I have this node and I'd like to "flatten" it so that the right side handle is in line with the other. Is this possible?

        @debraspicher Have you tried holding down the shift key when you drag the node handle on the right side to match the left side?

          @Boldline Yes, that's usually what I try first. It moves the right handle in fixed directions (0dg, 45dg, etc)

            @debraspicher Select the other control point and use the "smooth node" command (context panel second node type button)
