Drop Caps and screen refreshing

Hi. Trying to use Drop Caps. Im tring to set the distance between quotation marks and the first letter. Im unable to separate them, without affecting the text that follows.
But, beyond that, when i make some changes, and ctrl-z it, the screen dont reflect the change until i change the zoom level. Here is a video -
@marce I will try to replicate this. An example file similar to the one in the recording might help.
