Thoughts on the Distortion Tools

  • As i wrote in this Thread
    https://www.vectorstyler.com/forum/topic/4567/pucker-tool-like-functionality/7

I wanted to share the thoughts I had while
    using the distortion tools

    1
Having a lot change able settings for a Tool and then
having to work with modal Setting Windows is very tedious.
I would prefer a non modal one, if this is possible.
Or a additional panel like the Shape panel which work
    non modal then.

Because now, for every small change to a setting
you have to press the Enter-Key or double-click
the tool to open the settings window, change
the setting, close the window, try the new
    setting and so on.
    .
    .
    2
Each tool has different settings, so far so good.
But saving a setting for a specific tool leaves a
user helpless. Because they don't know which tool
that setting was for, there is no indicator in the
Preset Name. The only option they have is adding
the Tool name manualy in a preset name.

    2b
If i save a Setting for the Liquid Tool as an example
i can call that Setting for another tool and it will
change some Parameter of that Tool as a result.
I think that should not be possible.
    .
    .
and a last though, i was thinking about how to put
some distortion Tools into one Tool which offers
the Features of them course if thats possible

    Here a Video

@Subpath I added this to the features backlog, and I will try to find a solution for 1.3

some distortion Tools into one Tool

This last point is not clear

Let's say you have 4 distortion tools that are most similar,
    e.g. in terms of settings.

That these could perhaps be combined into one tool and the options
of the 4 tools could then be accessed via a dropdown menu in this
    combined tool.
This could reduce the number of distortion tools somewhat
but keep the features of it. Just an Idea dont know if this
    makes sense.
