Does snapping not support snap the shape own
-
The snapping feature cannot snap the shape's own nodes, etc..

@Li-Xiao Check 'Snap to Original' in the Snapping panel's menu.
-
@b77 Thanks
After being away on a business trip for more than ten days, I haven't adjusted back to the local time, I forgot to look at the options in the menu.

@b77 How to snap the midpoint of polygon edges without adding nodes, as adding nodes would disrupt the live effect of polygon
https://youtu.be/TqcU3_Y2BDs
-
@Li-Xiao There is no snapping to midpoints of segments.
-
@Li-Xiao You can do it with 'Snap to Objects' instead, by drawing the ellipse
from the center with Ctrl-Shift: https://recordit.co/KUfIpjiPf8
-
@b77 Thanks
That's also a solution, but it seems like there is an issue with my snapping feature.

@Li-Xiao Hm…it looks like it doesn't work when the polygon is selected.
(It's selected immediately after drawing it).
-
a more unsual approach, its also possible to switch between
a smart shape polygon and path polygon
via the Shape Picker Toolso you can use the path for alignment and
replace it later
-
@Subpath Thanks, It would be much more convenient if the snapping feature worked like in CD, where snapping to edges is possible.
@VectorStyler I hope an option for creating polygons based on the length of sides can be added.

I added this to the backlog.
Snap to the last shape while drawing will work better in the next build.
snapping to edges
This is a bit difficult for object resizing. It can work for special cases (as in Corel), but we need something like collision snapping that works for movements only.
