Why do I receive no feedback that an object is active (selected).
Drawing a simple rectangle on an empty artboard. This is active immediately after drawing. Seems logical to me, proof: I can change the color. However, I can't see this. No active selection frame or what so ever is shown.2

- It looks like the colors in your custom palette are spot colors.
You can disable it from the Palette panel's menu ('Set Spot Mode').

@Ayo (1) I will add some form of highlight to the object.
(2) Those are global colors in the palette (clipped bottom right corner of the color box).
Global colors are referring to the palette for the color, and changing the palette color will change all instances of the global color.
This is why, the object can only contain a tint.
This cam be "expanded" into components with the buttons under the tint field.For regular colors, select the palette colors and set them to copied mode (palette panel, Set Copied Mode).
