Is resetting the workspace to default supposed to also set the settings to default?

  • I realized tonight after inadvertently re-entering my customized settings several times into the settings panel, that edits to the settings panel are lost when you re-set the workspace to default. Maybe it's always been this way and I didn't know otherwise because I'd not done much with customizing the workspace in my time using VS until now.

I also tested VS to see if I altered the settings in the settings panel and then saved the project and reopened VS, all those settings edits would also be lost. Before now VS would retain any customization to the settings even if it had not been officially saved as a custom settings file.

  • There should probably be a warning that pops up making sure the user saves the edits to the settings panel before they click ok and restart VS to see the changes put into place, because the edits are not retained otherwise

@Boldline I will test this, normally it should not reset the settings.
