Single click fill select

Can I select an object with a single click in the middle of a filled object (not on its path)?
-
@Ayo Is 'Shape by Outline' enabled or disabled in Prefs/Settings > Editing Options 2?
-
@b77
Disabled now and now it works!
Not very self-explanatory 'Shape by Outline'.
Thanks
-
@Ayo I agree, 'Select by Outline' might be better.

Indeed
In addition to my earlier post FEATURES AND IDEAS > Some recommendations for the default (factory) settings. Why is this an option anyway?
Clicking on an object is the most basic and intuitive way of selecting something. You have to learn to select by maquee. Why is this not a default without an option. Saves another checkbox. Does it harm something else or is it undesirable for certain uses that I can't oversee?

@Ayo This is disabled by default but I guess you played with the Prefs and enabled it thinking it does something else.
Having this option is necessary for technical drawing, I think. It should stay.
-
@Ayo Btw, in order to avoid any confusion between the default settings and your own, you can
reset the app to defaults by holding Cmd-Option-Shift when starting it.
-
@ayo @b77 might be worth also mentioning that you can save out a custom preferences file and load it again to easily go between your custom settings and the default ones
-
@Boldline Indeed. (It's in the VectorStyler menu > Preference Files > Save too File)

If the object in the middle is above the other object, then yes it should work.
But if it is behind and obstructed then the first (top) object under the click is selected.
Clicking again (but not double click) will select the next object behind the selected one.

Works very nice, without modifier key!
