"flip horizontally" button with option sends result way off screen
-
@VectorStyler If you remember the thread where i said things get a little wonky in VS the longer the program session stays open? This was one of the wonly things it does after a period of time elapses during regular use
Object flipped and copied using "flip horizontally" button with option modifier pressed to simultaneously copy it eventually stops placing the object right next to the original version and instead puts it out far off to the right or left side of the artboard each time. This is one of those issues that does not happen all the time but is more likely to occur when VS has been running a long while already. If I restart VS, it will copy and flip normally as expected
here is the file as well. the object was left on the far right side past the artboard

@Boldline Cannot replicate this here: https://recordit.co/koTHJtHnIq

@VectorStyler I don't know how long your current use session was going when you tested for the issue. it works just fine here for long spans of time but eventually after an extended open session of use, it occurs and it does so in any document used. I found it also happens when the flip horizontally button is used without the option modifier key. the option key is not part of the issue fro what I see.
It will not fix itself and only goes back to normal after quitting VS and reopening it.
I also tried refreshing VS (command r) and it did not fix it

@Boldline yes, here of course it was tested after a fresh start.
I keep this issue open in the backlog, and try to figure out what could cause it.

@VectorStyler said in "flip horizontally" button with option sends result way off screen:

Are there things I could try while it is happening to rule them out or narrow in on a potential thing?

@Boldline Well, one thing that could help is to find out what are the prerequisites for this to happen.
For example: what other actions are taken before.
Something preferably short that can be repeated just after starting the app and then replicates the issue. But I will also look into this from a different perspective. There is a lot of persistence happening in the VS UI and it could be that the flip change keeps some size / position from a previous flip.
