Slow Typing Performance
-
@gotanidea Yes, this one is still active in the backlog.
There were two editing issues with the text.
The other one is fixed in the current build (was a smaller text), and it was an actual bug.In this case, the problem is that text in the frame is a bit large, and a new solution is needed with more testing.

@VectorStyler Thanks Admin

Hi Admin, the slow-typing performance problem still exists in version 1.2. We will need a better typing performance to make books and documents that consist of thousands of words.

@gotanidea No, this is still an open problem. There was a related bug that it was solved, but the other case (very large text frame) is still open. I found that on a regular artboard size, 12pt frame text typing is alright. It gets slow with very large frames and small text.
It is an open bug, and will get solved in the 1.2 phase.

Admin, I would just like to let you know that this slow typing performance problem still persists in version 1.3. I still can't use VectorStyler to create books because of the very sluggish performance when working with thousands of words

@gotanidea Can you send me an example file? The last test was with a very large frame and small font, was not a practical case.

The same text doesn't really slow Adobe Illustrator, Affinity Designer and Inkscape down.
Please download another example file:

To reproduce the problem, please use Text Tool and click the text box at the top-left of the document, then hold the "a" key

@gotanidea I will try to improve this, the previous bug report was not closed, just did not (yet) find a good solution.

@gotanidea I'm testing these issues with slow typing performance. The new document has no issue with speed (the old is till slow).
What configuration you use for these tests? and which text is edited in the new document. I'm trying to replicate as close as possible.

Can you please click the first text box ("Before rigging any character geometry ....") at the top-left region of the new document using the Text Tool, then hold the "a" key?
I use:
- VectorStyler v1.3.001
- Windows 11 Home 64-bit
- AMD Ryzen 7 5800H with Radeon Graphics (16 CPUs) ~3.2GHz
- 16384MB RAM
- NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Laptop GPU
