Colour hex code: why is it necessary to type #?

Perhaps the "#" could be added to the permanent text, "Hex"
so it says "Hex#" and then the now empty input area right after?

It is on purpose, and I have to figure out a good solution.
The main role of this field is to be able to copy/paste hex colors, and that always comes with the # mark. But plain input should not need the # mark.So I think the best solution would be to allow plain input without the # mark, but once confirmed, the # is added to the start.
