Notice: There's a summary at the bottom.
( accumulated ) : The sub-topic has been accumulated from an existing topic and marked there aswell.
CEDIT : EDIT for a sub ( child ) - topic
PEDIT : EDIT for the mega ( parent ) - topic1. Automatic styles panel groups from object reference groups ( accumulated )
- object groups would be applied a "Style Group" role for activation of the feature
- styles resulting from roles applied to the group members would appear in a group / folder in the styles panel automatically
- if any two groups with the proposed role have the same name, their content would be merged in the styles panel
- arbitrary nesting of groups with proposed role
- structure would appear analagous in the styles panel
- the ( group / folder )'s name would be fetched from the object group
CEDIT : Improved title.
2. Canvas panel > Options > Recursively expand every.. ( accumulated )
In the canvas panel, click the hamburger menu and select the "Expand to" sub-menu, then select either of
- "Canvas", expands to canvas level of
- if categories selected: specific categories
- else: all categories
- sub-menu "Artboard", then select either of
- "All", expands to artboard level of
- if categories selected: all canvases of specific categories
- elseif canvases selected ( ignore any selected categories ) : specific canvases
- elseif artboards selected: greyed out
- else: all canvases of all categories
- "{ x }", expands to artboard level of
- x = First: first canvases
- x = Integer: canvases at index ( a bit overkill, but there's always improvement to good UX.. )
- x = Last: last canvases
.. of- if categories selected: specific categories
- elseif canvases/artboards selected: greyed out
- else: all categories
- "All", expands to artboard level of
3. Keyboard shortcuts for switching between canvases and artboards ( accumulated )
The commands eligible for shortcut assignment would be roughly analogous to the various ways of clicking on canvases or artboards in the canvas panel.
4. Multi-stroke keyboard shortcuts ( accumulated )
Right now shortcuts can only consist of a modifier plus a key. Some apps ( various JetBrains IDES for example ) allow for multi-stroke ones, like "ctrl + a, ctrl + b", so that the command is only executed after this exact sequence of shortcuts.
5. More convenient layer name field editing ( accumulated )
5.1 Description
In the gif below I perform three actions, each as soon as the field editing is active or the name text area has been clicked, in order:
- Pressing ctrl + a as a common way to select all the text.
- Quickly double clicking the name text area in expectation to go into field editing.
- Repeatedly pressing ctrl + backspace as a common way to delete whole words.
One results in all layers / objects being selected instead.
Two results in the object options modal view popping up instead.
Three results in whitespace being generated instead.5.2 GIF
5.3 New Observation 1
5.3.1 Description
- ctrl + backspace does work
- strange behaviour
- sometimes leaves temporarily unremovable ( by pressing backspace ) whitespace
- seems to behave strangely with special characters
- when the shortcut removes all of the remaining text, editing is disabled
5.3.2 GIF
5.4 New Observation 2
5.4.1 Description
- pressing the left arrow after selecting all places the cursor on the right end
- should be placed on the left end

6. Smoother scaling of the panels view ( accumulated )
7. Change apparent name of the brush styles panel to "Brush Styles" ( accumulated )
8. Tooltips ( e. g. names ) when hovering over brushes in the brushes panel ( accumulated )
The same thing for styles in the styles panel and similar panel situations, I guess.
9. Customizable context-sensitive application bar ( accumulated )
10. Align to key shouldn't require activation for new selection ( accumulated )
11. Shape effect panel hints for clones inheriting from their sources
11.1 Description
- source object has shape effect applied
- not obvious from the shape effects panel of the clone
11.2 GIF
12. Mass-selectable and removable objects in the "Object Export" panel
Currently one has to delete the export collection and then add objects to a new collection to remove and then add some objects. This is a little cumbersome.
