Set up Warp function from vertical toolbar by selecting object then warp
-
One of the ways I was thinking we could fix the issue with the warp tool in the vertical toolbar not selecting the right object is to also allow the object to be selected first, then click on the warp tool in the toolbar and the blue dots representing the warp function handles would appear on the already selected object. This would come in handy for times when trying to select an object with the warp tool chosen first does not result in the right item being selected to warp

@Boldline I will add this to the backlog. Technically, it is not difficult to do this.

@vectoradmin Is improving the way the warp tool selects an object, especially in amongst other objects, something still in the backlog? No pressure, I was just making sure that issue was still addressed even if we add the opposite section method. both would be handy. I also have a file Im using currently where it's challenging to grab the top object with the warp tool if that helps

@Boldline Yes, there is a still open issue regarding the selection while the warp tool is active.
The problem is that I could not replicate it, the way it was posted in a different thread:

@vectoradmin If you go back to the baseball file I just sent you for the other issue and make sure the applicable layer is unlocked, you should be able to recreate the issue there.
Just now I returned to the file and tried again to add a warp first to the main word "Boonville" and then tried secondly to do the same thing with the word"baseball", both times it selected something behind the desired content.

@Boldline Clicking on objects while using the Distortion tools should work better now.
Also: there is a "Create Distortion on Tool Selection" option in preferences.
