Example of fast method of adding 3D effect to text (or any vector shape)

We've discussed in the past adding 3D options to VS in the future at some point. I'm hoping when that happens, there's an option for quick and simple 3D as well as a dedicated panel option for more advanced features and tools related to 3D effects. Much the way VS is already set up with a quick and simple solution in the toolbar and then dedicated panels for more in-depth refinement and edits
I came across a website that had this neat/(distracting for a website) text effect creating an instant 3D look.
I'm hoping VS will eventually have a toolbar 3D tool creating a similar result with vectors that can be added to a design quickly.The example in the linked video is overly simplified in that it only sends the 3D shape one direction and you control the amount with the cursor. In VS, I'd think it could go any direction at all with a click and drag to set direction and length at the same time.
