Find Edges does nothing (Windows)
-
Works fine in macOS.
In Windows 10, 20H2 I only get a black frame when adding it as an image effect. Tried JPG, PNG and pasting.
-
Emboss and some others exhibit the same behavior.
-
@Ingolf Can you send me the image (by email)?
I tried to replicate the Find Edge issue on a color image, but it seems to be working here.
-
It is any image I try at all. My gut feeling tell me it is a graphics driver or hardware issue.
-
@Ingolf try by disabling GPU use with View -> Display -> Display Options -> Images -> Compute Filtering (by unchecking it), so that it is only for the document.
-
Helped a bit

@Ingolf Can you send me that image? The tests I use seem to work.

@Ingolf This is what I get: https://recordit.co/KPbfz68f2i
I open a bug on this one, and will try to figure out why it is different.

I did experience a crash though in macOS (same image). I made:
- Find edge effect (not subtle)
- A bit of gaussian blur to soften the edges
- A brightness and contrast layer to enchance the clarity (see the lines more easily)
Adjusting the brightness and contrast made the program sluggish and I think when hiding that effect the image disappeared and the macOS pointer turned into the colorful spinner. I terminated VS after a while.
Now updating to Monterey 12.3

@Ingolf If you still have that file, please send it to me. I will try to replicate the crash.
