Gradient accuracy

The gradient starting point moves away from the border of the shape when I zoom in.

@Ingolf Yes: the two knobs at the very end are just handles to drag the gradient, the actual color position is indicated by the slightly inner color knobs.
The actual position of the gradient is indicated by the color knobs.
So the outer knobs are just placed at a fixed (screen) distance from the inner knobs at the current zoom level.

There was a discussion about the gradient tool before (simplicity of AD vs features of VS).

Yes I remember but I didn't expect the current model to behave like this. At that time I argued that the outer knobs are superfluous. Now I find them actively in the way and pointless. The non-complex model in Affinity, CorelDRAW and others has one starting point and one ending point marking the actual starting point and ending point and moving them to adjust the gradient is logical too.

CorelDRAW - their gradient editor is an excellent example of simplicity and precision. I am not crazy about the weird angle tangent or the pointer though.

The in-place color selector and opacity slider is brilliant if one is into this kind of pop-up assistance.
