Better shortcuts for the Path panel and for the Find Previous/Find Previous buttons
-
Currently Option-P is the shortcut for the 'Find Previous' button in the Find/Replace window.
And Option-E is the shortcut to display the Path panel.
To me it would make a bit more sense to have Option-P for the Path panel, and use the same shortcut as the browsers and text editors — Cmd-Shift-G and Cmd-G — for the 'Find Previous' and 'Find Next' buttons.
Any opinions about this from forum members?

@b77 Command+G (and Command+Shift+G) cannot be used for finding, these are for Group / Ungroup.
-
@vectoradmin So the Find/Replace window doesn’t take precedence over the main window?

@b77 option-p seems like a more logical shortcut to tie to the path panel. I agree with @vectoradmin, that certain key commands like grouping and ungroup are so universal across the design world that it would be difficult to change now.

@Boldline No, I don’t mean to change the shortcuts for Group and Ungroup — I just thought that the Find/Replace window is modal so that when it’s active the shortcuts could be used for it’s buttons instead.
But it’s not modal, so scratch that.

The Find/Replace is a sort of panel (but cannot be docked) that can float over the document. This allows working on the document and then finding the next/previous thing.
The related shortcuts are global.

@vectoradmin Got it.
