Pattern Brush visual aide

Thinking ahead to version two - I would like to see the pattern brush panel expanded some to allow for more help when it comes to getting more complex patterns perfect.
For example, anyone who tried to make a rope pattern brush in other vector apps knows it can be challenging to get the rope piece centered perfectly so it will repeat seamlessly without hiccups. If it's off by any little bit, it can throw off the entire brush rope look.
Maybe something that helps with this alignment - snapping it in - maybe a live preview of how it will look? I'm thinking along the lines of what exists for modifying the taper and look of brushes already - but for patterned brush looks.
like a program within a program if you know what I mean.
