Style Picker doesn't work after using Node Tool

The Style Picker will not work after using the Node Tool on a path.
Steps:- Draw a rectangle and convert it to a curve
- Create another shape and fill it with any colour or edit stroke properties
- Using the Node tool, make some edits on the first drawn rectangle (now a curve). And without deselecting, immediately switch to the Style Picker and click on the second shape to copy it's properties. Nothing happens...
This has always been the case even in the previous versions. I am not quite sure if this is by design or simply an oversight.
In Illustrator it works as expected.

Yes, seems that the node is still selected and cannot fill the object. I will try to fix this as soon as possible.
