16Bit Tiffs unsupported?

Looks like the image when I import. I wouldn't normally add 16bit images to a document, so I discovered this by accident. I was having issues with color display.

Opening the TIFF file straight away looks similar except the color profile is different:

Setting up a new file as 16-bit, same results but another color shift:
