Is it possible to reset all object's content / properties to default with one click?

It would be useful when working with "Update default Styles" in Selection settings enabled.
I tried various ways to reset the object's content, but they failed if the object has more fills / strokes created in appearance panel or effects enabled.

@Harry The (x) icon in the Appearance panel should remove extra styling.
The default style is a fill and a stroke, or does this refer to what is in the current color panel? (that is updated when the object is selected).

@VectorStyler Thanks - the "X" icon is what I was looking for. The simplest things are most often the hardest to find
