Copycat of VS App on Apple Store

That's crazy. Looks like they just pasted a raster image on the artboard, took a screen shot and then edited out the Vectorstyler name in the upper corner. How it managed to get approved on the apple store is what's most concerning to me

Exactly.

Wow, that's ballsy!
So is it an actual app do you think or just some mocked up screens? Yeesh!!

I don't know, but the download size is the same as the VS universal download.
I contacted Apple and they contacted that person. But the problem is that this kind of thing should not go through the app store review process.

@VectorStyler Yes exactly, I thought they were pretty stringent with app approvals. Hopefully you can get it resolved.

The guy also seems to have other strange apps, so Artful Graphic Design looks suspiciously like Amadine, but nothing like Illustrator yet, maybe a bit too ambitious for him.

God damn it, yes, I thought so too, but it's disheartening to observe. Bad news.

You better inform Belight Software as well.

@VectorStyler I hope there isn't a lot of lost revenue there. Not sure about apple if there are any mechanism or policies in pace to compensate if the mistake is on their side.

I don't know. For start they should take it down. I have sent through various channels to Apple notifications on this (legal, DMCA, App Store) but so far nothing happened.
It is an ongoing process.
Obviously, it should have not been approved. Especially since that VectorStyler version was downloaded from the Mac App Store.

They have also filed a claim with the Apple App Store.
-
Good news, the apps no longer appear in the App Store.
