Problems around the corner

if one or more Nodes (you could select it with Shift key)
in orange then changing the Value work only for this NodesNot here they don't
Normally I would use the shape editor to select the specific node, but it seems you have to use the transform tool - that selects the whole object, then you can select the specific corner (in orange like yours) and apply a value, but it still applies that to all the corners
Ahhhhhhh, I just noticed something, you are using the shape panel and NOT the corner panel !!! Why would you use the shape panel instead of the corner panel ????
It works with the shape panel as long as you use the transform tool, but NOT with the corner panel ! And you have to use the transform tool and NOT the shape editor tool - and you're using the shape panel !!!LOL, this just seems like an overly confusing mess - and makes no sense - or is it me That is until you look at the corner panel and find out that it isn't the corner value you are adjusting, but a start value (or an end value) - now this is even MORE confusing
I would suggest that simply using the shape editor tool and clicking a node and giving it a corner value in the corner panel (and context area) should do just that - and only to the selected node(s) !

i notice the Corner Panel once but then i have forget it
in my tries i was using the Corner Tool
it seems that the corner panel has a bug ?
As long as you have not moved a corner node
all not moved nodes are changed when you enter a value in the corner panelthe Shape Panel and the Context Toolbar Field on the other hand work as expected

Just for the fun of it, a bit of comparison with Affinity:
First half: editing shape
Second half: converted to curvesAlso not best practice, but the clean interface makes it okay easy to deal with.

@Igull An additional click on the corner knob should give an orange outline.
Then the corner is selected and the amount can be changed.
This is how it works here: https://recordit.co/KHETH1EA1KWas there any customization of the modifier keys?

yes, by swarm intelligence
Ha ha
You're suggesting that we have the intellect of a bee then - probably correct in my case

Yes, ok on the context bar input field, that's what I use generally, but was attempting to investigate more when the corner panel and shape panel started to cause me issues

Yes, that was one of the issues I noticed.

This is how it works here: https://recordit.co/KHETH1EA1KOK, got that, but you are using a specific corner tool to simply set a corner value. I feel that this is a bit of an overkill and TBH, unnecessary. You commonly have either the transform tool or the shape editor tool in use and having to then go to yet another tool seems pointless.
If using the transform tool, you have to initially select the object, then select a corner point that you wish to change - that's two operations when it only needs to be one. I feel the transform tool should be for the complete object and not a single node.
If using the shape editor tool (the correct tool IMHO), you would simply select a node and apply a value (or a selection of nodes). Currently, if using the shape editor tool, it transforms all nodes to corners./rant
Was there any customization of the modifier keys?
Not to my knowledge. TBH, you really don't need a modifier (unless for removing an applied corner of course - but then you can simply set the corner value to zero ?).
I fully realise that VS is different (and better really in many respects to some of the other apps, but occasionally goes over the top on a feature that really isn't required (for my selfish purposes at least LOL )

I will make it work with the Node selection also.

Hi all
I have made two requests this week that @VectorStyler put in the backlog
- single (selected) corner values should be adjusted when selected with the shape editor (here)
- corner editor tool should be invoked correctly and directly when a node is selected and the corner tool is activated via a keyboard shortcut (here)
Selecting one or more nodes now and activating the corner editor with mouse works as expected.
So, I expect that eventually this will work for me on an object (that is not a built in shape):
- I activate the node editor with A
- I select one or more nodes
- I enter a value in an input field and only selected corners are adjusted
OR
I press C (my personal keyboard shortcut for the corner editor) and only the selected corners are adjusted (with the mouse) and I then press A to return to the shape editor

Well, there are many other species that
live in large groups (swarms), even humans.
So it is your choice

As they say in the movies, 'make it so'
Excellent, thanks for that!
