Inkscape 3D tool

Really impressed with the 3D box tool in Inkscape. It's neat to be able to create in 3D space.
I know there's already several requests for 3D to be added to VS and it's on the roadmap.
When this does get added to VS in the future - It would be great if any existing shape could be used, not just a rectangle. Also would like to easily be able to add more shapes along the existing perspective guides of the first shape.
